This series is a commentary on social media, and peoples’ growing obsession and contribution to the phenomena, and my observations on how that affects one-on-one, and other human interactions that are intended to share a level of intimacy.
This project started with photography. I walked around Portland and took photos of public spaces that I thought were places where human interaction would be at its highest. I then took these photos and found my own patterns, grids, and other shapes that I then used to create the imagery for these pieces.
The typographic parts are phrases I thought expressed a great level of intimacy, or were at least associated with intimate moments. The way these two components interact with each other in these works create a sense of tension and uncertainty. There are 11 pieces total in the series.
